When 67 year old David Bowie was unable to pick up his Best Album award last night, the now oldest Brit Award winner in history sent Kate Moss in his place… as you do… or at least, as Bowie does. The supermodel strutted onto stage to accept the award wearing the ultimate in rock star vintage attire; Bowie’s red ‘Woodland Creatures’ playsuit, printed with white rabbits, from his 1970’s Ziggy Stardust Years. Epic! Kate has long since been a friend and big fan of Bowie, and has covered both British and French Vogue editions made up as the celebrated singer in 2003 and 2012 respectively (below).
Have you got your mitts on PORTER yet? The high fashion e-tailer Net-a-Porter launched their 284 glossy paged magazine (featuring the glorious Gisele on it’s first cover) this month in 220 cities and 60 countries. Editor Lucy Yeomans has said the magazine, focused on everything from fashion to beauty, travel to tech, is aimed at “sophisticated women of the world” and the editorial pages feature “all brands, whether they’re stocked on Net-A-Porter or not”. A Net-a-Porter app can be downloaded which has amazing image recognition capabilities, allowing readers to point their mobiles at the pages and buy the products they desire incredibly easily. With six issues expected a year, and with each issue costing £5.00, this could potentially be the cheapest kind of luxury in town.
Lupita Nyong’o may have lost to Jennifer Lawrence in the Best Supporting Actress category at last night’s BAFTA awards, but if there had been a Best Dressed category the Kenyan beauty would have had zero competition. Lupita’s stunning emerald green Dior couture dress invoked both old-Hollywood glamour, with it’s glamorous silhouette, and a very modern feel with it’s clean, strapless line and belt, complimented by her short hair. Lupita has owned the red carpet this award’s season.
The other fashion moment of the night? Brangelina in their his-and-hers tuxedos! Mum of six Angelina Jolie clearly took the ‘black tie’ dress code literally and wore a custom made Saint Laurent tuxedo. The overall look was bold, sleek and beautiful, just like the actress herself (and she clearly won hands down when it came to red carpet accessories...)
Funniest moment? Prince William presenting Dame Helen Mirren with the BAFTA fellowship, brilliantly introducing her as, “an actress I should probably call Granny!" Brilliant.
I was thrilled to be interviewed about my style in the SS’14 online edition of the recently launched ZOS Magazine, a seasonal online fashion, beauty and lifestyle magazine aimed at 15-25 year old girls, run by two creative high school students in Sydney, Australia.
Gentlemen… If for some LUCICROUS reason you missed TLC’s Valentine’s Day Gift List last week (what were you thinking?!) and have idly let all other warnings of the looming love celebration pass you by, you may just have ONE last chance to redeem yourselves and save yourself from the Dog House… Daisy Jewellery is not only offering NEXT DAY DELIVERY but also a 15% DISCOUNT to the guys who purchase items from their ‘If Only He Knew’ Valentine’s Wish List (using code VDAY15 at the checkout).
Now, you have NO excuses!!
My favourite piece from their ‘hearty’ selection is the Limited Edition Fluro Pink Heart Chakra Bracelet (RRP. £86.00) in rose gold (top left and above, modelled by Lloyd...)

"Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed..." THE worst line in film history but very much resonating today! I'm ignoring this foul and dreary weather whilst hibernating with the March edition of Vogue, some Camomile tea (mug by Emma Bridgewater, for similar: HERE) and some hot toast with oooooodles of honey. Richard Curtis would be jolly proud.
While I do believe (quite stongly!) Valentine’s Day should be aaaaall about us Ladies, I suppose the dear men in our lives deserve a little love-recognition also. Below are some sliiightly more tasteful ideas that thankfully stretch far beyond the ghastly teddy bears holding ‘I Wuv You’ hearts, pink fluffy handcuffs or cheap chocolate body paint that are currently smothering our high streets. We do still wuuuv you though…

Over-commericalised? Yes. Over-Sentimentalised? Yes. But, woe betide any poor fella who fails to adequately spoil the lady in their his on Valentines Day. If your man somehow failed to see TLC’s Valentines Gift Guide last year (here) and you were presented with some, albeit quiiiiite nice, supermarket flowers and a box of Dairy Milk, you clearly need to take a more direct approach this February. Perhaps email this webpage of flirtatious and fashionable fancies to your darling, wonderful, love-of-your-life, sweetheart alongside some mild, yet supremely accurate and detailed, threats of your choice… That ought to help. If not, I’ve always found self-gifting particularly rewarding.
